Body Talk: the endocrine system

Part five of this series looks at the endocrine system and how it functions, as well as some of the different conditions that occur when it goes wrong.

Learning outcomes

By completing this module, pharmacy technicians will:

• Know the structures that comprise the endocrine system and how it works
• Be able to name some of the main glands and hormones and appreciate how these work and often link together
• Understand the causes, symptoms and treatments for endocrine-related conditions
• Know the differences between type 1 and type 2 and the symptoms and treatments of each.
